The NIETC Safety Director is NECA-IBEW Training Trust’s representative in all safety activities. Â Our apprenticeship programs include in-depth safety training and certification to prepare our members for the rigors and hazards of the construction industry. Â By combining NIETC safety training and hands on activities with site specific safety orientation our members are better prepared to identify and protect themselves from these hazards. Â Typical safety training topics include:
- First Aid / CPR
- ÁñÁ«Ö±²¥ Safety / NFPA 70E
- OSHA 10 & 30 Hour Courses
- Rigging
- Aerial & Forklift Operation
- Confined Space
- Asbestos Awareness
- Environmental Hazards
The Director also provides a resource to our industry by:
- Assisting NECA Contractors and IBEW Local 48 Business Reps with job site safety assessments
- Advising employers of unsafe working conditions and creating best practices
- Assisting with accident investigations
- Reviewing OSHA and other regulatory agencies standards to help compliance efforts
